Jam.gg takes the security and confidentiality of its users' personal data very seriously, especially with regard to the French Data Protection Act n°78-17 of January 6th, 1978 and the EU Regulation 2016/679 of April 27th, 2016 known as "GDPR" (the "Applicable Legislation"). We have strict internal procedures regarding the storage, access and disclosure of your data. Piepacker is committed to preserving your privacy. This privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") sets out how we use the data we collect about you, how you can tell us that you prefer to limit the use of that data and our procedures for safeguarding your privacy.

The Jam.gg platform is provided by Piepacker SAS, a simplified joint stock company with a capital of 7,002,000 euros, whose head office is located at 60 rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004 Paris (France), registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 882 922 289 ("Piepacker" or "we").

Piepacker has developed a platform (the "Platform"), accessible from the website https://jam.gg/ (the "Website") allowing its users (the "Users") to play online games.

In the context of the processing of personal data, the purposes of which are set out below, Piepacker acts as a data controller. 

1. What personal data do we collect and how do we use it?

We collect personal data about you when you interact with the Website and/or Platform in the following contexts: 

Purpose 1: Creation of a User account on the Platform and use of the games.
In this context, we may use the Facebook Login service to connect you to our interface in accordance with its terms and conditions. As the case may be, we may transfer some of your data to Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, as joint controllers. 2. How long will your data be kept for?  

We keep personal data for the duration of your subscription to the Platform. Then these data can be kept for a period of 5 years from the end of our contractual relationship with you for evidentiary purposes in case of claim or litigation. Piepacker also keeps the billing data for up to 10 years. 

If you are a User of the Platform, Piepacker can keep the data for 3 years from the end of our contractual relationship with you for commercial prospecting purposes.

Finally, the cookies and other tracers used on the Website are subject to specific retention periods (see Article 5 below).

3. To whom do we transfer personal data?

For the purposes set out above, we may transfer your personal data to processors or to companies within our group. 

With its best effort, Piepacker shall ensure that third parties collecting, storing or processing personal information on behalf of Piepacker, have:

  • Signed agreements to protect personal information consistent with Data Privacy Policy and information security practices or implemented measures as prescribed by law;
  • Signed non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality agreements which includes privacy clauses in the contract; and
  • Established procedures to protect personal information.

In the event of a transfer outside the European Union, we ensure that the recipient offers sufficient guarantees with regard to the Application Legislation, in particular by entering into standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. If our business is sold or merged with another company, your data may be transferred to the new owners of the business.

4. How do we protect personal data?

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, such as:

  • access to your User account is controlled by a password;
  • we store your personal data on secured servers;
  • all data stored on our servers are encrypted.

While we are committed to using our best efforts to protect your personal data, you acknowledge that the use of the Internet involves data security risks (hacking, phishing, etc.).

5. Our cookie policy

5.1 What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded to your computer when you visit certain websites and allows a website to recognize a user's computer. Cookies are used to help users navigate websites more efficiently and to use certain features, as well as to provide information to the website owners.

5.2 What cookies are used on the Website?

The list below shows the purposes of the cookies used on our Website and their retention period:

  2. Tracking page views, counting page views and clicked items - 1 year
  3. Being able to distinguish unique users (by assigning a randomly generated number as a customer ID) - 1 year
  4. Tracking and counting views of videos embedded on our Website, keeping track of user preferences regarding video player settings - 6 months
  5. Tracking the user's journey during a visit/session on our Website, including their interactions with our Website - 1 year
  6. Obtaining information about how the end user uses the website and what advertisements the end user may have seen before visiting said website, experience the effectiveness of ads on websites - 1 years
  7. Providing a range of advertising products such as real-time auctions from third party advertisers - 3 months
  8. Obtaining information on the frequency of connection to our Website and those of our partners - 1 year

5.3 How do I block or delete cookies?

Prior to the use of cookies, we ask for your consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the use of our Website and it is possible for you to filter the cookies according to their purpose. 

Your Internet browser may also allow you to block or delete cookies placed by the Website. Your browser's Help function should tell you how to do this. 6. What are your rights? 

As a user of our Website, you have the following rights:

  • to rectify them when they are inaccurate, incomplete or obsolete;
  • to object to their processing when the processing is based on our legitimate interest, when its purpose is commercial prospecting, or when it is profiling;
  • to request their deletion when the data are no longer necessary to fulfill the stated purposes, when you have withdrawn your consent, when you have invoked your right to object, when the data have been processed unlawfully or to comply with a legal obligation;
  • to request their portability to a structured format;
  • to request the limitation of their processing when you contest the accuracy of the data, when you do not wish their erasure in the event that the processing is unlawful, when we no longer need the data but you need them for the exercise or defense of your legal rights or when you have invoked your right to object and we verify our legitimate interest in retaining your data;
  • to set up instructions for the handling of your data after your death;
  • to withdraw your consent to the processing, where it is based on your consent.

Any request should specify the personal data you wish to access, rectify, erase or replace or whose processing you wish to limit or invoke portability. Your user account information may be requested to facilitate the processing of your request.

 You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés if you consider that the processing of your personal data violates your rights to data protection. 

7. Changes to the Privacy Policy 

If we change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page and may post notices on other pages of the Website so that you can be aware of what data we collect and how we use it at all times.
